Lennons Toilet sells for 15K

The legendary musician's porcelain throne was sold for £9,500 ($15,500) at a Beatles auction in Liverpool Saturday.

The toilet, painted with blue flowers in and around the bowl, was part of Lennon's Tittenhurst Park home when he bought it in 1969 and was removed three years later by a contractor. Lennon gave him the toilet as a gift and told him to "put some flowers in it." Forty years later, the contractor's son-in-law decided to sell it.

Auction organizer Stephen Bailey, who also owns The Beatles Shop in Liverpool, told the BBC that "we had bids coming in from all over the place but it went to a private overseas buyer." The toilet was originally expected to fetch up to £1,000 ($1,600).

George Michael enters rehab

George Michael checked himself into rehab following his car crash last month and has been undergoing drug counselling sessions ever since.

The pop superstar was arrested after smashing his Range Rover into a store front near his home in Hampstead, north London.

He appeared in court in the British capital this week and pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drugs.

The Careless Whisper hitmaker has now revealed he checked himself into a clinic shortly after the incident to undergo a 14-day detox program. He is now receiving outpatient treatment, which includes drug counselling "several times a week".

The 47 year old broke the news in an open letter to fans posted on his official website, thanking them for their well-wishes and expressing his determination to turn his life around.

He writes, "I want to thank you all sincerely, and also to reassure those of you who worry so much for me. I fully appreciate the seriousness of my current situation, for which I truly apologize...

"I feel you should know that on the day after the incident I checked in to a clinic for a 14 day detox program here in London, which has been followed by ongoing outpatient drug counselling several times a week. Personal problems which I had tried to deal with myself had clearly got the better of me, and I am sorry that my pride has prevented me from seeking help before now.

"I would also like to express my thanks to those whose discretion allowed me to begin this process in private, which has helped me greatly."

Michael is due back in court next month to hear his sentence. The judge overseeing the case has told the singer he is facing a possible prison sentence.

A representative for Nicki Minaj has been forced to deny rumours the rapper has secretly wed Drake after the pair joked about their "marriage" on Twitter.com.

Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, has previously admitted to a longtime crush on Minaj and he threw fans into a spin this week when he posted a message on the social networking site urging followers to refer to his pal as "Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham".

He wrote, "Please refer to Nicki Minaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and don't stare at her too long. She's finally mine."

And Minaj fuelled the rumours by replying, "Yes, it's true. Drake and I tied the knot."

But a rep for Minaj has insisted the pair was joking, telling JustJared.com rumours of a secret wedding are "not true".

Guns N Roses Not pleased with Leeds Fest organizer

Axl Rose. (WENN.com)

Guns N' Roses guitarist DJ Ashba has lashed out at the organizer of Britain's Reading and Leeds Festivals, branding him "cocky" and "money-grubbing" after a bust-up over the band's set.

The band was left fuming after bosses pulled the plug early during their headlining slot in Reading on Friday (27Aug10), forcing the rockers to perform acoustically and overrun their finish time.

A spokesperson for the event claimed the gig was cut short to keep with curfew laws but Ashba is convinced the festival's director, Melvin Benn, has long held a "grudge" against the band.

In posts on Twitter.com, Ashba writes, "They pulled the power, but failed to kill the connection as 90,000 people sang Paradise City...

"Apparently the promoter has had a personal grudge with Guns N' Roses stemming from eight years ago (when Guns N' Roses last appeared at the festival).

"If this was the case, why book the band? He knows our show. Let me guess... To take our fans' money and then not allow us to give them a show that they paid for. This was clearly not a curfew thing because after cutting our power like a selfish, money-grubbing p***k, he allowed music blasting throughout the venue 'till the early morning.

"The promoter was already being a cocky f**k in the press before we arrived. So yes, we went on a little late, and for this we apologies (sic). However, our fans paid to see a show, and that's why we showed up, to give them just that. Sad that this promoter's music festival has little to do with the fans or the love for music."

Confusion still surrounds Guns N' Roses' planned headline set at Reading's twin Leeds event on Sunday night after frontman Axl Rose vowed to pull out.

Before departing the stage, Rose told the crowd: "Unfortunately due to tonight we will not be at Leeds, although we will try and play a bit more now."

A festival rep has stated the band is still scheduled to play at Leeds.

Nicole Richies wedding a secret

Nicole Richie. (WENN.com)

Lionel Richie won't know about his daughter Nicole's wedding plans until the last minute - because the socialite is convinced her famous father "can't keep a secret".

The TV star-turned-fashion designer is engaged to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, and the couple is rumoured to be exchanging vows later this year.

But the veteran singer admits he is being kept in the dark about the nuptials, because he can't be trusted to keep the news quiet.

He tells Britain's The Sun, "I honestly don't know (when the wedding will be). They won't tell me because they know I will tell everyone.

"I can't keep a secret."

But Richie has already made his daughter promise not to ask him to sing at the ceremony: "I said to Nicole, 'You won't make me do anything cheesy like sing?'
