Singer Vanessa Carlton has 'outed' herself as bisexual - in front of an 18,000-strong crowd at a gay and lesbian festival in Nashville, Tennessee.

The A Thousand Miles star was headlining the Nashville Pride Festival at the city's Riverfront Park on Sunday when she told the huge crowd of revellers, "I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman."

Carlton has previously been linked to rockers John Mayer and Stephen Jenkins.

The 29 year old's announcement comes just weeks after True Blood actress Anna Paquin revealed she was attracted to both sexes in a public service announcement for the True Colors Fund.

Eminem Supports Same sex Marriage

Eminem. (WENN.COM)

Eminem has thrown his support behind same-sex marriage in his home state of Michigan, following years of complaints from gay rights groups about his offensive lyrics.

The Slim Shady star has previously come under fire over his controversial songs and was targeted by campaigners last year when he labelled homosexual singers Lance Bass, Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken "f**gots" in his track Elevator.

However, the star insists his outlook is "more mature" than in previous years - joking that if same-sex couples wish to marry, they have every right to be as "miserable" as their 'straight' counter-parts.

He tells the New York Times, "I think if two people love each other, then what the hell? I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want.

"It's the new tolerant me! My overall look on things is a lot more mature than it used to be."

Wilson back with Beach Boys

Brian Wilson is rejoining the Beach Boys for a tour to mark the band's 50th anniversary.

The legendary songwriter will team up with the two other surviving founding members, singer Mike Love and guitarist Al Jardine, for a series of 2011 shows to mark five decades since the group formed in 1961.

Wilson's brothers and bandmates, Dennis and Carl Wilson, died in 1982 and 1998.

The three remaining original members of the group last came together in 2006, putting their long-strained relationships and legal battles behind them to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their iconic Pet Sounds album.

Love has since toured regularly under The Beach Boys name, with his son Christian and longtime member Bruce Johnston, while Wilson has been performing solo shows since 2002.

And Love admits he is delighted the original band will be coming back together again next year.

He tells the Las Vegas Sun, "Now we're gearing up for the 50th anniversary, and Brian Wilson, who has been working on some unfinished Gershwin music project, will rejoin us. I'm sad that Carl Wilson passed away 11, 12 years ago from the same lung cancer problem that claimed the life of George Harrison. That was not a fun time for us. But I am happy that now my son Christian is in the group. Yes, the line-up has changed over the years, but it's been pretty consistent the past several years."
